Rhett Bray, a 3rd grader in Mrs. Hinds' class, will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada this week to compete in the Junior National Finals Rodeo. Rhett will be competing in the PeeWee division of Saddle Bronc. All of us here at Springfield Schools wish Rhett the best!

The 2018 Wendy's High School Heisman Award for the state of Colorado was awarded to Springfield's Beau Dukes and Cheyenne Wells' Kaci Chadwick. Eastern and Southeastern Colorado is proud of these student-athletes. To be eligible applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA, be proven leaders and role models, and perform in at least 1 of 47 school sponsored sports. The Heisman Award is named after John Heisman, a former college football player and coach. The Heisman Scholarship was created by Wendy's founder, Dave Thomas in 1994.

Beau was selected as Springfield High School's "Good Citizen" and was recognized in Lamar on Saturday. He demonstrates these qualities: Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism. Great job Beau!
