Ballot Initiative 4A Has Passed – What Now?

Springfield School District thanks all those who supported the 4A ballot initiative.  It is great to be part of a community that has expressed overwhelming support for education in this manner. Kent Brooks and the Plainsman Herald were integral in communicating our master plan to the community.  Every letter of support, Facebook discussion, and coffee shop conversation was noticed and appreciated by the District. We appreciate those who maintained an open mind and engaged us in dialog.  We understand not all support the bond, but encourage all to attend the upcoming public opportunities to influence the design of our new school.

Springfield School District is entering into a contract with TreanorHL, an architectural firm out of Denver to complete the design of the school.  Their work may be seen at . There will be opportunities for community input into the design of the school in the coming months, and there will be school staff and members of the community invited to participate in design advisory group (DAG) meetings.  TreanorHL’s dedication to include local input and heritage in their school designs was an important factor in their selection.  We encourage the community to attend the upcoming public events when they are advertised.  Please continue to watch our social media outlets for updates as we progress through this exciting project.

It has been a long arduous journey to secure a BEST grant and a matching bond election, but there is a considerable amount of work to undertake before we can move our students into a new school.  The overwhelming community support has strengthened the resolve of those involved with this process.  Thank you Springfield! This project will insure the sustainability of our educational infrastructure, and the viability of our community for the foreseeable future.
