|FCCLA Goes To State Capital|
Springfield FCCLA visited the State Capital in Denver, CO. Mrs. Self and the FCCLA group are accompanied on the left by former Springfield student, Elizabeth Walker.

SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS: Congratulations to the Springfield Junior and Senior High School students who participated in the Southeast Colorado Regional Science Fair.
Brakelle Westphal and Peyton Oswald
were awarded reserve grand champion;
Jaycee Delarosa and David Crane were
awarded first place;
Darian Schaller, Kyler Crane and Ella Swanson
were awarded 3rd place.
These students will represent Springfield High School at the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair at Colorado State University in April. Additional awards included:
Honorable mention for Lily Viner; a $250 Lamar Community College scholarship for Peyton; and forensic science recognition from the Baca County Coroner’s Office for Darian and David.
Elementary Students did well, too.

Gunner Mackey was awarded a 3rd place.

Congratulations to Beau Dukes!
Beau was selected as Springfield High School's "Good Citizen" and was recognized in Lamar on Saturday. He demonstrates these qualities: Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism. Great job Beau!

The Springfield FBLA had a blast attending the 2019 State Leadership Conference at the Gaylord Resort in Aurora, Colorado. They competed in their events and gained a lot of knowledge. Payton Arbuthnot got in the top 10 for Intro to Business and Becky Heath took home a 4th place plaque. Becky will have the opportunity to compete at National FBLA in San Antonio, Texas this summer. Congratulations to everyone who attended the conference and a special thank you to Mrs.Self for keeping the organization alive.

Lions Club Donates Cricut Cutter
Springfield School District welcomed the addition of a Cricut Cutter. This popular die cutter was generously donated by the Springfield Lions Club. Springfield Schools thank you!

The 2018 Wendy's High School Heisman Award for the state of Colorado was awarded to Springfield's Beau Dukes and Cheyenne Wells' Kaci Chadwick. Eastern and Southeastern Colorado is proud of these student-athletes. To be eligible applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA, be proven leaders and role models, and perform in at least 1 of 47 school sponsored sports. The Heisman Award is named after John Heisman, a former college football player and coach. The Heisman Scholarship was created by Wendy's founder, Dave Thomas in 1994.
