The story of Springfield School District over the past year is one we should all be incredibly proud of.
From the 2024–2025 school year to the 2025–2026 school year, Springfield made remarkable gains across the state’s Accountability Performance Framework. These results are more than numbers—they are evidence of the hard work, determination, and commitment of our students, teachers, staff, families, and community.
At the district level, Springfield School District made an equally significant achievement as academic growth went from 37.3% to 62%. This is a powerful reflection of the collective progress happening across our entire school district.
In fact, the most recent data shows that Springfield Elementary ranked in the top 1% of Colorado schools for improvement on the accountability performance framework. Ranked 39th out of 1,585 schools across the state.
That is an extraordinary accomplishment!!
Our Elementary School
Our elementary school made one of the most significant jumps possible.
Overall rating improved from Priority Improvement to Performance—the highest performance indicator.
Academic growth increased dramatically from 37.5% to 62.5% of total points earned.
Elementary is no longer on the accountability clock, they are on watch.
This represents tremendous progress and demonstrates what can happen when teachers, students, and families work together with a shared commitment to student success.
Our Middle School
Our middle school also experienced substantial improvement.
Overall rating moved from Improvement to Performance.
Academic growth increased from 48.6% to 75% of total points earned.
The free and reduced lunch cohort exceeded expectations on academic growth.
Middle School math academic growth made an incredible leap from Approaching to Exceeds Expectations—the highest level of accomplishment.
That growth represents more students making meaningful academic progress and is a direct reflection of the dedication and hard work taking place in our classrooms every day.
Our High School
Our high school made important strides as well.
Academic growth improved from Does Not Meet expectations to Approaching expectations, by going from 25% to 48.6% of total points earned.
While there is still work to do, this improvement represents meaningful forward momentum and demonstrates that the strategies, interventions, and commitment of our staff are making a difference.
This Is More Than a Rating
These accomplishments are not simply about moving from one category to another.
They are about students.
They represent students who are learning more, growing more, and being given greater opportunities to succeed.
They represent teachers who refuse to give up on a student.
They represent staff members who come to work every day committed to making a difference.
They represent families who support their children and our schools.
And they represent a community that believes in the future of Springfield students.
The numbers tell the story—but our people made the story happen!!
As a district, we should celebrate this tremendous progress.
At the same time, we know that success is not a destination. We will continue to challenge ourselves, identify areas for improvement, and remain focused on providing every Springfield student with the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Springfield is moving forward. Springfield is growing. And Springfield is proving that great things happen when an entire school community works together.
