Springfield was well represented at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America conference in Denver over the weekend. FCCLA provides members with the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life. Including planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication skills essential in both the home and the workplace. Chapter members competed in Star Events as teams or individually. All projects receive a bronze, silver, or gold and the top 2 events scoring over 80 points are invited to compete at nationals this summer in Orlando, Florida. New School Records: Congratulations to sophomore, Parker Arbuthnot, for breaking his own 1600 meter and 3200 meter records at the high school track meet at Tribune, KS yesterday. He ran the 1600 in 4:38.10 (4:40.67) and the 3200 in 10:29.61 (10:36.44). Way to go Parker!
