The Souper Bowl final results are in . . . and the winner is Baca County! Over 2,000 cans were delivered to the Baca County Food Bank. Thank you to everyone who donated; what a true testament to what wonderful Longhorns we have!

Child Find screening will be held in Springfield, Thursday, February 6th. To make an appointment call 523-4391.
What is Child Find? Child Find is a free program for children birth to five supported by the Southeastern BOCES and the Springfield School District. At Child Find a team of professionals including an Early Childhood Specialist, Speech therapist, Audiologist or Hearing Screener and Nurse will screen your child’s ability to think and learn, their language development, their vision and hearing, overall health, including a dental screen and their body’s physical ability.


Springfield Schools had the honor of hosting the FCCLA District Conference and Competition today. Participants from four area schools presented their projects for a judging panel, consisting of community members, business owners and school employees. Those receiving top scores will have the opportunity to compete at the state competition in Denver in April. Thank you to the Springfield Chapter Members and Mrs. Self for organizing a wonderful event.

Congratulations to the high school knowledge bowl team for their second place finish at the Springfield Knowledge Bowl on Friday. The team will compete in the regional knowledge bowl next Monday, February 3rd, at Eads High School. Good Luck Longhorns!

Schedule Change: The basketball game at Kit Carson has been rescheduled to January 28th @ 4:30 p.m. There will ONLY be high school varsity girls and boys. The junior high games will not be rescheduled.
