Our Hearts are Broken---Missed but never forgotten.

The junior high cross country team excelled at the meet today in Johnson, KS. All but one runner beat their personal record. 7th Grade JH Girls (26 runners) - Dakota Reid (6th) and Shirley West (24th). 7th Grade JH Boys (40 runners) - Gunner Mackey (5th), Parker Arbuthnot (15th), Jacob Burdick (17th), Trevin Summers (21st), Aden Swanson (34th) and Kaydon Evans (39th). Congratulations!


Results from the high school country meet in Johnson, KS, HS Girls (56 runners) - Brakelle Westphal (24th) and Addie Miranda (56). HS Boys (74 runners) - Mylo Lovejoy (24th) and Tucker McGeary (73rd). The team's last regular season meet is in Syracuse next week.


The junior high cross country team continued to improve at their meet in Ulysses on Tuesday. Gunner Mackey placed 2nd and Parker Arbuthnot placed 9th. The 6th/7th Boys also placed 2nd as a team!


The high school cross country team headed to Ulysses yesterday. It was a warm and windy day but the runners did well. HS Girls (38 runners) - Brakelle Westphal (14), Ella Swanson (15), Shelby Wallace (36) and Admarie Miranda (38). HS Boys (56 runners) - Mylo Lovejoy (24), Tucker McGeary (38) and Hayden Lasley (42)


The junior high cross country team participated in a Tri-Meet with Rocky Ford and Lamar at the North Gateway Park in Lamar. It was a little windy but the runners ran well. JH Girls (11 runners) - Dakota Reid (2nd), Shirley West (9th). JH Boys (20 runners) - Jacob Burdick (10th), Parker Arbuthnot (15th), Aden Swanson (17th) and Kaydon Evans (19th).



The high school cross country team headed across the mountains this weekend for a meet in Gunnison. It was a beautiful course and the runners did well. HS Girls (21 runners) - Brakelle Westphal (3rd), Ella Swanson (5th) and Shelby Wallace (17). HS Boys (29 runners) - Mylo Lovejoy (7th), Hayden Lasley (9th) and Tucker McGeary (18th).

Why don't they teach this stuff in school? At SHS we do! Pictured are Leslie Stewart and Megan England with a check for $10,000. Earned by implementing personal finance into our curriculum and the Springfield School Board voting for it to be a graduation requirement. All Freshmen at SHS will recieve 1 semester of personal finance instruction. Way to go Ladies!!!


The junior high cross country team took on the hilly Tribune, KS course with no fear. Several of the runners had personal best times. 6th/7th grade girls (22 runners) - Dakota (5), Shirley (22). 8th grade girls (20 runners) - Bay (7). 6th/7th grade boys (40 runners) - Gunner (8), Jacob (19), Parker (20), Trevin (29), Aden (37) and Kaydon (38).


The high school cross country team put forth great effort today on a hilly course in Tribune, KS. There were 52 varsity girls - Brakelle (14), Ella (24), Shelby (48) and Addie (51). There were 56 varsity boys - Mylo (22), Hayden (28) and Tucker (45).


The junior high cross country team had a great first meet at Rocky Ford. The boys finished 3rd and girls 4th. There were three individual medal winners - Gunner Mackey (6th), Dakota Reid (4th) and Bay Ellis (9th). Congratulations to all the runners!

Thank you to the Springfield Pool for coming in early on Fridays so the cross country team could cross train. The high school team has their first meet on September 4th and the junior high season kicks of on September 5th.
