It was a record breaking day for the cross country team at Hugoton today! 6 of the 7 runners broke their personal record and a school record was beaten . . .again. The high school team placed 7th out of 15 teams. The team heads to Ulysses on Tuesday. Great Job Horns! Mrs. West's Springfield HS and JH art students celebrate Wassily Kandinsky 1866-1944 and his International Dot Day, on September 15 by painting dots. Kandinsky was an abstract expressionist artist who was drawn to the idea that "everything starts from a dot".

The cross-country team took on the hilly Tribune course today. The team had a good showing today with 4 of the 6 runners placing in the top 10 and a couple of personal records were broken. It was a hot one at the cross country meet today in Rocky Ford. In their first meet of the season, the junior high girls had a solid showing. Alexis Penson placed 29/60 and Isabel Guadiana placed 46/60. The high school boys placed 5th as a team. Parker Arbuthnot 9/91, Mylo Lovejoy 12/91, Draven Ferch 30/91, Hayden brooks 48/91. Congratulations Horns! The team heads to Tribune, KS next Saturday.

The high school cross country team started their season today at the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede. The Longhorns had a great showing on one of the tougher courses they will run this season. There were 33 teams with 177 runners in the small school division (1A-3A). Mylo Lovejoy placed 12th, Parker Arbuthnot 13th, Hayden Brooks 65th, Draven Ferch 72nd and LJ Willis 115th. Team results weren't available at posting. The team heads to Rocky Ford next Friday.
